Associate Public Health Consultant
- Public Health Services - Provider Services
- Phoenix, AZ, USA
- Full Time
Preventable illnesses kill tens of thousands of people every year, however there is hope. The impact of the flu, pneumonia, measles, whooping cough, cervical cancer, and many more diseases is diminished through the use of vaccines, public health prevention programs, and data intelligence. The battle is fought every day to ensure that communities are prepared, proactive, and empowered for any event or outbreak from bioterrorism and newly emerging disease, such as the Zika virus, to the old diseases that never left.
Make an impact and join us in this fight at the front lines. As an Associate Public Health Consultant, you will be responsible for developing and implementing knowledge transfer material, strategies to improve process workflow and services that enhance important public health initiatives such as immunization registry programs, interoperability and more. You will be a key team member in supporting intelligence solutions for a healthier future - for you, your family and community.
What You Will Do
You'll demonstrate your Public Health subject matter expertise by working with colleagues in local and state government to help identify ways to use information systems in support of public health outcomes and achievement of their program goals. To accomplish this, you may:

• Meet on-site with clients to conduct training and provide technical assistance on our applications
You'll work closely with HL7 interfaces – installing, configuring and implementing them.
You'll also sharpen your project management abilities by creating and implementing project plans.
Additionally, you'll assist with product testing by creating test scripts and executing test plans.
Finally, you'll develop training materials (through documentation and other creative vehicles), to enhance our clients' understanding of our products and HL7 messaging.
You have exceptional listening and communication skills, giving you the ability to present complex public health concepts and solutions to stakeholders from a diverse range of business roles
You approach learning with an analytical eye, often teaching yourself new concepts, and are able to assimilate applications and new subject matter information quickly and effectively into your daily tasks
You are highly self-motivated, and known to regularly take the initiative to dig into issues and research solutions independently – before they become problems for your clients
Above all, you want to exceed your clients' expectations, so you rely on your strong attention to detail and organization skills to validate software adherence to their requirements
You understand how valuable face-time is with your clients, and you are willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time
You can easily rock out polished documents in Microsoft Office and Excel

You will really impress us if all of the above apply and you have experience with immunization interoperability and HL7 messaging or detailed technical message specifications, working with immunization programs, and/or working with EHR vendors and interfaces
