Preventable illnesses still kill tens of thousands of people every year, however there is hope. The impact of the flu, pneumonia, measles, whooping cough, cervical cancer, and many more diseases is diminished through the use of vaccines, public health prevention programs, and data intelligence. The battle is fought every day to ensure that communities are prepared,
proactive, and empowered for any event or outbreak from bioterrorism and newly emerging disease, such as the Zika virus, to the old diseases that never left.
Make an impact, and join us in this fight at the front lines. As a DevOps Engineer I, you will work to continually improve our processes and toolsets, in both Production and Test environments, for systems that are connecting the entire healthcare community and building a path to a healthier future for people all around the world.
This includes environment automation, continuous integration / build release pipelines, application deployments and disaster recovery. While considered an entry level position for DevOps, team members will rely on their past experience in other IT roles to be successful. We prioritize drive and willingness to learn over experience.
This position also involves occasional after-hours maintenance as well as participation in the on-call rotation for Production systems support. Our uptime requirements are 24/7 and our team members work as a team to ensure that our customers' systems are always up and available. In the event of outage, you will be one of the first responders who lead and manage the situation until it is successfully resolved and operations are returned to normal.
Communication is a critical skill for this role. You must be able to clearly communicate in multiple forms (email, verbal, written, Slack), eliminating ambiguity, asking for and providing help when needed. Creation and updates to documentation (written or code) are skills essential to success on the team.
We currently utilize the tools, applications and concepts listed below. We expect you to have similar experience, and a willingness to quickly become proficient and productive to close any gaps. Our tools and processes will evolve and this position is expected to learn and evolve with them. Where possible, our team collectively chooses the tools and determines the processes we use to get the job done.
